Educational purpose

Energy Safe Skills provides general education about natural gas, excavation, and utility safety. The materials are intended to support classroom instruction. They do not replace workplace training, professional advice, employer procedures, equipment instructions, utility requirements, or federal, state, and local laws.

Conditions and requirements vary by location and job site. Always follow current instructions from the relevant utility, employer, emergency services, and 811 center. In an emergency, leave the area and follow local emergency procedures. Do not rely on this website for real-time emergency guidance.

Permitted use

You may access and use the site and its materials for personal, noncommercial educational purposes. Instructors may display the materials in class and may download or print resources when the site provides that option. You may not sell the materials, remove ownership notices, misrepresent their source, or publish a modified version as an official Energy Safe Skills resource without written permission.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Interfere with the operation or security of the site
• Attempt to access restricted staff tools or data without authorization
• Submit false, misleading, unlawful, or harmful information
• Use automated systems to overload, scrape, or disrupt the site
• Use the site or materials in a way that violates law or another person's rights

Intellectual property

The site and its original text, graphics, presentations, videos, logos, and other materials are owned by or licensed to their respective owners and are protected by intellectual property laws. Energy Safe Skills and CenterPoint Energy names and logos may not be used to suggest endorsement or affiliation without permission. Third-party materials remain subject to their owners' terms.

Third-party services and links

The site includes content and links from third parties, including CenterPoint Energy, 811 resources, YouTube, Vimeo, and Cloudflare. We do not control third-party sites or services. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the program and its sponsors disclaim warranties of any kind, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, fitness for a particular purpose, and noninfringement.
